BeAnIdol.com (BNI) was first founded in May 2004 to provide a platform in the cyber world for music composers and lyricists to present their original material. In BNI, not only can composers and lyricists submit their original work, they have the privilege of being able to know the standard and popularity of their work through the voting points and comments given by other members. BNI is also a platform for its users to get to know fellow musicians from different parts of the globe, allowing communication to take place. Through interaction among each other, opportunities for collaboration are therefore possible even beyond boundaries, thus paving a brighter road for one's music future!

The set up of BNI for the mentioned purpose has therefore lead to another role which is also to serve as a source of research for record companies and the music industry in searching for new music elements and direction. BNI can be used as a guide for music producers to generate varieties of musical ideas, while at the same time serve as a venue for record companies to discover new and potential talents.

The existence of BNI is another good news to all Internet users in general. With BNI, Internet users now have an additional entertainment outlet in cyber space. And they have the chance of not just being a song listener but have the honor of taking role as a "judge" towards the original composition or lyrics of music composers and lyricists by giving comments and opinion. Feed back from listeners/users are consequently a motivation to music composers in seeking improvement in their work.
